Area:
Molori Safari Lodge is situated within the Madikwe Game Reserve, one of the largest reserves in South Africa. At 400 kilometres northwest of Johannesburg, the reserve borders Botswana and offers breath-taking views over expansive valleys to the imposing Dwarsberg Mountain beyond.
Visitors can spot “The Big Five” – lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffalos – as well as an abundance of other native animals on their twice-daily game drives and guided bush walks. On the property itself, there’s a watering hole often frequented by elephants and guests can take in this spectacular sight from the nearby hide.
This luxury safari lodge redefines wilderness accommodation. Waking up in our open-air suite to the sounds of the bush, then enjoying breakfast on our private terrace overlooking the watering hole where animals gathered - pure magic. The game drives were expertly timed for optimal wildlife viewing, and our guide's tracking skills were impressive. The observatory with retractable roof offered spectacular stargazing opportunities we'll never forget. While nearly perfect, we did experience some minor service inconsistencies during peak hours.
Every detail was perfection. The furnished terraces were ideal for morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the mountains. The spa's plunge pool was refreshing. Guides were incredibly knowledgeable.
The attention to conservation and sustainable tourism impressed us deeply. Our children loved learning about animal tracks during bush walks. Family suite was spacious and comfortable. Staff arranged special activities for the kids.
While the overall experience was outstanding, we did have some minor issues with hot water consistency in our suite during peak usage times. That said, everything else was perfection - the game viewing was spectacular, the food divine, and the stargazing through the observatory telescope was absolutely mind-blowing. The staff handled our concerns professionally and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay.
Exceptional service paired with breathtaking surroundings. The staff's genuine warmth and professionalism made us feel like family. The wildlife viewing hide by the watering hole provided some of our most memorable animal encounters without even leaving the property.
