Singita Serengeti House is the perfect place to experience the Tanzanian wilderness. Pretty river valleys cross woodlands, forests, grasslands, and huge plains. This contemporary lodge offers uninterrupted views across the Serengeti where a plethora of wild animals freely roam or stop for a drink at the property’s watering hole. Guests can enjoy the views and spot exotic wildlife from the large wooden deck surrounding the 25-metre infinity swimming pool. The deck has plenty of places to relax and socialise, from a covered lounge and al fresco dining area to poolside sun loungers to fire pits overlooking the plains. Sports enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with a full-size tennis court, a croquet lawn, a pool table, and a fully-equipped gym with glass walls for epic views during a workout. There’s also a dedicated spa pavilion, perfect for post-gym treatments, or simply a holiday pamper session. The interior is decorated in natural and light tones to perfectly match the environment, giving a warm and peaceful atmosphere to the house. Guests can relax in the spacious living and dining area with its cosy fireplace and plush couches, or head to the media room for a DVD or PlayStation session before retiring to their well-appointed bedroom for the evening. Up to eight guests can be accommodated in four bedrooms; two suites in the main lodge and two separate garden cottages. Each suite offers a double bed, an en-suite bathroom, an outdoor shower and private terrace with stunning views. In the surrounding area, there are a host of activities for guests to enjoy, many focussing on conservation of the area. Daily game drives with a guide are included, and there is a vast selection of other activities and excursions to choose from. Singita Serengeti House is the perfect choice for a truly special safari escape with a touch of luxury.
Beautiful lodge, stunning views, and very attentive hosts. The garden cottage was private and quiet. We had one afternoon of unseasonable rain and the media room saved the day. Would return in a heartbeat.
Waking up to elephants at the watering hole never got old. The infinity pool, the fire pit at sunset, the outdoor shower under the stars. Every detail felt considered. Our guide was patient and incredibly knowledgeable, and we saw the big five in three days. The food was outstanding. One small note: the gym is a bit warm midday, but honestly you will not want to be inside anyway. A truly special place.
Luxury safari perfection. The infinity pool, the fire pits, the glass walled gym, all set against the Serengeti. Our host arranged every detail, from dietary requests to a surprise birthday cake. We stayed in the main lodge suite and loved the private terrace. Five stars without hesitation.
Sterile would be the wrong word, but the lodge is very polished, almost hotel like, which some travellers may love and others may find slightly formal for a safari. That said, the wildlife viewing is world class, the rooms are immaculate, and the host communication was prompt and kind. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
